The team at the University of Giessen was responsible for analysing the matriculas and graduation lists of the universities of the Holy Roman Empire during the period between 1250 and 1450 AD. This work has now been done. In close cooperation with the team in Berne we are now consecutively focussing on various regions of the Reich. Having completed studying the careers of Graduates in the Lower Rhine region, we are currently concerned with the Upper and Middle Rhine region including Switzerland and Swabia. Future modules will look at Southern Germany including Bohemia and Austria, and to Middle and Northeast Germany. As far as possible we are also taking into account those times the Graduates spent abroad, especially in France, Italy, or Poland.

In Giessen, work at the Repertorium began in October 2002 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Peter Moraw. The project is institutionally based at the Historical Commission at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and currently financed by the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities.
